Forum Rules

Hello HS Friends! We know that there are always questions regarding the types of punishment given for violation of forum rules, so we've created a list of offenses and potential punishments.

Flames/trolling/hostility: This includes threads directed at a specific person, job, ethnicity, religion, etc.
1st Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
2nd Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
3rd Offense: 7 Day forum ban.
4th Offense: Permanent forum ban.

Inappropriate Content: Any post made that includes content listed under inappropriate behavior in our forum rules. This includes images that are violent or gory, contain sexual content, obscenities, or racist depictions.
1st Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
2nd Offense: 7 Day forum ban.
3rd Offense: Permanent forum ban.

Spam: Posting pointless messages to increase post count or [/color]posting the same topic or post repeatedly or in multiple places.
1st Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
2nd Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
3rd Offense: 3 day forum ban.
4th Offense: Permanent forum ban.

Hijacking/Off-topic: Posting off topic comments and/or straying from the topic stated within the body of the thread's creator is prohibited. If you have another issue to discuss please create a new thread to discuss it.
1st Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
2nd Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
3rd Offense: 7 Day forum ban.
4th Offense: Permanent forum ban.

Necromancy: Posting in threads that have gone for more than a month without activity. It is generally better to create a new thread instead of resurrecting a dead one.
1st Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
2nd Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
3rd Offense: 3 day forum ban.
4th Offense: Permanent forum ban.

Accusations: Posts made accusing person of harassment, hacking, or anything else are prohibited. If you have something to report please e-mail highschool_friends@yahoo.ca so that an official investigation can be done.
1st Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
2nd Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
3rd Offense: 7 Day forum ban.
4th Offense: Permanent forum ban.

Bans/Mutes/Warnings/locked thread discussion: posting anything regarding a ban (i.e. "why am I banned?") or reposting a topic that was locked for inappropriate content.
1st Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
2nd Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
3rd Offense: 3 day forum ban.
4th Offense: Permanent forum ban.

CAPS: Posts or thread titles written in CAPITAL LETTERS. This is considered rude on the Internet.
1st Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
2nd Offense: Warning sent via Private Message.
3rd Offense: 3 day forum ban.
4th Offense: Permanent forum ban.

Flaming Gala, staff, or moderators: We invite constructive criticism and suggestions, but if you are posting to flame without offering any constructive suggestions or to provoke flames this will not be tolerated. It should go without saying that you should not flame staff or volunteers, if you have an issue with a certain person please e-mail us.
